Vlog – So I Went to a Peach Farm (plus a recipe at the end)

[Btw, these peaches were the BEST I’ve ever had.]

I’m not a farm girl at heart but weirdly enough, the second I get on someone’s patch of land and spot a few berries, I start grinning like the village idiot.

I blame Liziqi. Most of 2019 was spent watching her, feeling like I’d found a kindred spirit. Although there is much romanticism made of farm life, her videos showed me how hard it was. Friends, don’t let these cottage core/farm core Youtube videos suck you into believing that all you need in life is a pristine meadow and grape jam.

Anyway, to that end, I’ve spent my summer “following the fruit” as it ripens seasonally. For whatever reason, it was really important to me to have this experience. Maybe there’s some part of me that knows that in the very near future, our freedom of movement will be restricted and it’s best to make the most of the time we have now.

So far, I’ve been to a cherry, blueberry, strawberry and peach farm and each allowed personal harvesting; that is, picking as much as you want and paying at the end. Yesterday as I was watching vlogs from Greenland (don’t ask 😂), and saw how limited and overpriced their fresh produce was, I became grateful all over again for the access I have.

But… enough talking. Enjoy the vlog and tell me in the comments what you’ve been up to this summer.

PS: I picked 6lbs of peaches. I’m going to show y’all some mercy and only post 3 peach recipes.
